| Jamie Aditya started studying classical guitar in Jakarta at age 14 and listened to a lot of metal, such as Sabbath, Priest, Ozzy, and most importantly, Jimi Hendrix, which got him into Blues. In Australia he played in African and Reggae bands, an experience which helped him further understand popular modern American music. He then went back to Indonesia to soak up West Javanese (Sundanese) music and, shortly afterwards, started a stint as a Video Jockey with MTV Asia which lasted over six years. He moved to Discovery Channel for a while and did a music-based travel show called "Sync or Swim". It was during his time at MTV that he started to try and write some songs. Upon his return to Indonesia, he recorded some songs at the modest bedroom studio of friend Hendra ( of "Rock 'n Roll Mafia") in the city of Bandung. He also did a song, "Wonderful Day", with DJ Sumantri in Jakarta and one with friend Ade Habibie, "It's Coming Our Way".
His musical influences include: Sam Cooke, The Soul Stirrers, Stylistics, Ronald Isley, Al Green, Curtis Mayfield and Sly Stone. Jamie also enjoys listening to Doo Wop and reggae.
